HISTORY
The Brothers of the Christian Schools
(popularly known as the De La Salle Brothers)
The De La Salle Brothers, through the leadership of Br. Edmundo Fernandez FSC, opened St. Jaime Hilario School De La Salle Bataan, formerly known as Jaime Hilario Intergrated School – La Salle in June 14, 2006 originally to cater to the farming and fishing community of the municipality. At the time when the school opened, it was the 16th school of De La Salle Philippines, the network of Lasallian schools in the Philippines.
With three sections of Grade 1 students, Br. Bernard Oca FSC and Br. Manny Sia FSC each handled one section, along with lay teacher, Mr. Alan Paul Avelino. Bishop Socrates Villegas of Balanga, Bataan, blessed the school.
The campus is situated on a 3.5-hectare lot, which was donated by De La Salle alumnus Ambassador Carlos J. Valdes, and is located 151 kilometers northwest of Manila.
Now on it’s 10th year, the Integrated School offers complete K-12 basic education program and integrates Eco-Tourism and Culinary Studies, the emerging need in the area due to tourism, into the curricula. The school features a school chapel, sports facilities, and modern classrooms.
Six La Salle Brothers have taken the leadership of the school since it opened in 2006. Br. Bernard Oca FSC (2006-2007), Br. Ricardo Angel Laguda FSC (2007-2009), Br. Jose Mari Jimenez FSC (2009-2012), Br. Normandy Dujunco FSC (2012-2015), Br. Rey Mejias FSC (2015-2017), and Br. Iñigo Riola FSC (2017 – present).
